1.  (IV) Overview of the Types of Data Collected

At Cultural Candy, we collect various personal information from our users, including your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, job title, username, password, contact preferences, contact or authentication data, billing address, and payment information necessary to process your transactions. When you make purchases, payment processing is carried out by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Stripe is one of the most reputable payment processors in the industry and is used by many companies worldwide.  We do not store your payment card details.  That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processor, who uses your personal information and is governed by their own Privacy Policy.  These payment processors adhere to standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.  PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information. For more information, please refer to Stripe's privacy policy, which you can find here. We may also collect other information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as your social media login data if you choose to register with us using your existing social media account details.

In addition, we also collect the following types of information:

Referrals: Current paying customers may be offered the opportunity to participate in our referral program, through which they may refer others to Cultural Candy. The referral program may involve the tracking of referrals through the use of unique URLs/codes, which are assigned to each customer after placing their first order. When another customer visits the website using this unique URL/code and successfully places an order, a referral may be recorded and the new customer may receive a discount off their purchase. In addition, the customer who made the referral may receive an account credit, which may be applied against their next transaction with Cultural Candy. Cultural Candy reserves the right to add or remove a user's ability to make referrals, as well as their referral account credits. Users are strictly forbidden from sharing their referral links with the general public, including on public social media pages or any publicly accessible website. Any user found to be in violation of these terms may have their referral credits removed, and their account may be revoked.

Gift Recipient(s): In addition to referrals, users of our website may send eGifts and eGift cards to recipients. The email address and phone number(s) of the recipients may be provided to the website. Additionally, a personal message from the user to the gift recipient may be captured and transmitted. By providing us with the recipient's information and personal message, the user represents and warrants that they have obtained any necessary consent from the recipient(s) to provide this information to Cultural Candy and that the personal message does not infringe on any rights of third parties. Cultural Candy may use the recipient's information for the sole purpose of delivering the eGift or eGift card and may retain the information for record-keeping purposes.

In addition, we automatically collect certain information when you visit our Services, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and settings, device type and settings, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

We may also collect limited data from public databases, joint marketing partners, affiliate programs, data providers, social media platforms, and other third parties in order to enhance our ability to provide relevant marketing, offers, and services to you and update our records. This information may include your mailing address, email address, phone number, job title, intent data (or user behavior data), IP addresses, social media profiles, social media URLs, and custom profiles, for purposes of targeted advertising and event promotion.

Rest assured that any personal information you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information. We take your privacy and security seriously and have organizational and technical processes and procedures in place to protect your personal information. We strive to protect your personal information and have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures, including firewalls, encryption, access controls, and other industry-standard measures. Our Sites use SSL technology to encrypt your credit card number and other personal information during transmission.

Despite our efforts, no security measures can guarantee complete protection against unauthorized access or theft. Therefore, we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security measures and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information.
